Conveyor Belt Scales

Convey Weigh offers conveyor belt scales in one to four idler models, increasing your belt scale accuracy as idlers are added. Additional weigh idlers allow the electronics more time to do its job, increasing the time the integrator has to sample the weight signal. Data output is available to both stand-alone (existing) computers and PLC’s as well as ConveyWeigh supplied remote displays.

Determining which belt scale you need depends on the accuracy you require. The single idler model will typically deliver between 1 - 2 % accuracy depending on the quality of the belt, solidity of the belt structure, belt speed, scale loading, belt tensioning device and wind effect.

They have seen single idler scales provide .25% accuracy as well as struggle to provide 2% accuracy. Much depends on the application.

Convey Weigh suggests that you determine the accuracy you require before you fill out the quotation request for review. This will give you a good idea of how well any particular scale will function in your application.

Convey Weigh offers belt scales in multiple idler configurations.The single idler scale comes with an integral belt speed sensor.

Universal Apron and Wobbler Feeders

Apron Feeders
The Universal Apron Feeders consist of a continuous steel belt that is made up of overlapping flights or pans that are connect to and supported by steel chains. The underside of these flights are reinforced and designed to withstand impact. Apron Feeders provide a positive material flow and with variable speed drives can provide close control of the feed rate to the crusher. Apron Feeders are well suited for applications that require moving a high tonnage of coarse material where the impact loads are too severe for other types of feeders.

Universal Apron Feeders

Universal Tractor Chain Apron Feeders (sometimes referred to as Dozer Feeders and NICO Feeders) are of extremely rugged construction. Designed for the demanding conditions seen for material handling applications in mineral/ore, coal, and aggregate mining and material processing operations. Universal manufactures six model chain sizes FL4, FD4, FD7, FD9, FD10, and FD11. The chain pull and application determines which chain size is required for the Apron Feeder. There are fifteen standard widths and an infinite range of lengths. Each Apron Feeder is custom designed to meet a wide range of tonnage and application requirements.
For light duty applications they also offer Engineered Chain Apron Feeders (sometimes referred to as Texas Feeders).

Wobbler Feeder/Scalper
The Universal Wobbler Feeder/Scalper provides two functions, feeding oversized material at a controlled rate and also scalping out the fines from the fed material. This is accomplished by football shaped elliptical bars that are timed with a continuous triple strand roller chain drive and timed bar sprockets. Each elliptical bar is timed 90 degrees apart, one bar tip up and the next bar rotated with the tip in a horizontal position. All bars rotate at the same rate of speed and this motion tumbles and moves the loaded material along the bars until it is discharged off the Wobbler. Each bar is maintained with a constant gap between them, which allows the fines to pass through the bar gaps providing the undersized scalped material.

Universal Wobbler Feeder/Scalper

Wobbler's are self-cleaning, and can handle wet sticky material and are very good with clay. Cement plant’s use wobblers to screen clay from the rock. Shot material can be dumped directly onto the wobbler bed of material or fed with an Apron Feeder. With higher capacities and larger material lump sizes they recommend using the Apron Feeder and Wobbler combination to reduce the impacting and to increase the scalping area. Wobblers can actually increase your systems output by scalping out material fines and letting your crusher handle only the material that needs to be crushed.

Universal manufactures four models, each with different standard widths and number of bar combinations. Each Wobbler is custom designed to meet a wide range of tonnage and application requirements. Designed to scalp material from 1/2” to 7-1/2” lump size and tonnage go up to 2,500 TPH.

The Sandvik QE340 (E-7 Scalper) is a heavy duty, tracked, self-propelled, open flow screening and stockpiling system. This revolutionary machine has been purpose built for the recycling and quarrying markets. Based on in-depth customer and market analysis, the QE340 has been developed in order to deal with customers real requirements, which traditional screening solutions are unable to adequately cater for.

The QE340 is based on a sturdy, crusher-type chassis and features an adjustable heavy-duty hopper, double-plated apron feeder. The adjustable incline heavyduty screen box with high throw and vibration characteristics, ensures the QE340 is purpose built for arduous duties.
